IVI offsets 100% of CO2 emissions generated during the 8th International IVIRMA Congress

“We are aware of the need for environmental sustainability from a global perspective, as we have done so during the congress. All the initiatives implemented by us point in the same direction, one that governs our commitment to sustainability, towards balance on our planet and creating environmental legacy“, says Andreu Miquel, Global Head of HR and Sustainability at IVIRMA.

One of our key objectives here at IVI is to maintain environmental sustainability, as a result this commitment governs the strategic actions throughout the company.

Last April we celebrated the 8th edition of International IVIRMA Congress in Palma de Mallorca, the purpose of this global initiative is to end poverty, protecting the planet and seeking to ensure peace and prosperity worldwide.

As part of our contribution IVI is working towards reducing our carbon footprint; and offsetting any of the CO₂ emissions generated by sponsoring 300m² of Oceanic Posidonia, a conservation project to protect this endemic species in the Balearic Islands.

Some other initiatives IVI have adopted so far are:

Recovery of 2,300 kg of organic waste and 800 kg of glass waste

Within this IVI implemented the initiative of waste sorting to facilitate recycling and are committed to preventing excess waste by using compo stable materials as a substitute for single-use plastic items.

People: Equality and inclusiveness

Under this umbrella we donated €3000 the Rafa Nadal Foundation Centre, a social integration facility for more than 200 minors at risk of social exclusion in Palma de Mallorca.

IVI´s environmental commitment

With environmental preservation and respect being two of the key global business values here at IVI we have a waste management procedure applied to all our clinics, aimed at reducing paper consumption. For example we will soon be introducing the patient app allowing the consultations to go paperless.

In addition, and in the spirit of IVI´s social commitment, drinking fountains were installed for the participants at the expense of the social enterprise Proyecto 3 Glops.

Here at IVI we always try to work hard to reduce our carbon footprint and help the environment and will continue to do so for, with it being #internationalenviromentalday we feel it would be a good opportunity to shout about the hard work we’ve put in so far to achieve this.
