The 8th International IVIRMA Congress will bring together in Mallorca the main researchers in assisted reproduction worldwide

MALLORCA, 28th MARCH, 2019

In the coming days, Mallorca will host the eighth edition of the International Congress organized by IVIRMA Global, considered a benchmark in the Assisted Reproduction sector, which in each edition brings together the main authoritative voices on the subject.

The event will be held at the Mallorca Convention Bureau from 4th to 6th April, and will bring together more than 1,600 experts in Assisted Reproduction from five continents. This new edition of the IVIRMA Congress integrates the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) proposed by the UN, and is the first medical congress to implement this strategy.

Some of the central issues that will be addressed during the event include the main milestones achieved in the current field of reproductive medicine. The genetic edition of embryos, the influence of metabolism or the study of extracellular vesicles as a research element in the improvement of embryonic selection will have the presence at the Convention Bureau of researchers of the stature and relevance of doctors Craig Niederberger (USA), Epilda Fragouli (UK), Dagan Wells (UK), Ashley Moffett (UK), Emre Seli (USA) and Juan Antonio García Velasco (ESP).

The Congress will get underway on 4th April with the IVI Foundation workshop, led by Prof. Antonio Pellicer, in which the work sessions will focus on updating knowledge and points of view on the male factor in Reproductive Medicine.

IVI Foundation International Prize and Journalism Award

On Friday 5th, the 8th IVI Foundation International Prize will be awarded, in its categories of clinical research and basic research. This prize, awarded by the IVI Foundation and MSD laboratories and coinciding with each edition of the Congress, acknowledges the career and work of the professionals, rewarding excellence in research in Reproductive Medicine.

In turn, the Director of Marketing and Communication of IVIRMA Global, Marián Garriga, will present the 3rd IVIRMA Media Awards on Assisted Reproduction and Maternal-Foetal Health, an award that was created with the aim of praising the journalistic figure in the dissemination of information in the field of reproductive medicine and health.

Official Presentation of the Congress

The press conference, which will also be the presentation of the Congress, will take place on Friday, 5th April at 10.00 am, with the presence of Dr. Javier Marqueta, Director of IVI Mallorca and President of the Congress, and Dr. Juan Antonio García-Velasco, Scientific Director of the Congress, who will give an insight into the topics to be discussed and new developments in reproductive medicine, as well as a brief summary of the most significant data. There will also be an appearance by Dr. Dagan Wells, specialist in implantation and genetic diagnosis, and member of the Congress Scientific Committee.
