Mr Asif Muneer is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist based at University College London Hospital. He completed his higher research degree (MD) at University College London (UCL) investigating the physiology of smooth muscle dysfunction. He then completed his higher surgical training in Oxford, and undertook further visiting fellowships to the University of Bern, University of Paris as well as completing a Senior Fellowship at University College London Hospital.
He is past president of the British Society for Sexual Medicine, past Chair of the BAUS Section of Andrology and the Honorary Secretary for the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
Mr Muneer is an Associate Professor at University College London (UCL). He has published widely on all aspects of andrology with over 200 publications and co-edited six textbooks including Viva Practice for the FRCS(Urol), Textbook of Penile Cancer and Atlas of Male Genitourethral Surgery.
Mr Muneer has received a number of national awards including a British Urological Foundation award, Ethicon fellowship, Ralph Shackman fellowship and Royal Society of Medicine award. He was also awarded the Keith Yeates Gold Medal for the intercollegiate FRCS(Urol) and more recently the Harold Hopkins Golden Telescope award from the British Association of Urological Surgeons.
